Sons of Anarchy 5.13 “J’ai Obtenu Cette” Review
This episode of “Sons of Anarchy” had the unusual title of “J’ai Obtenu Cette”. It is French for “I Got This”. This was the much anticipated season finale and it may have been well worth the anticipation. The main headlines were that Clay and Tara are both heading to jail while Gemma came back to where she thinks she belongs which is alongside the man who is now at the head of SAMCRO’s table.

It was just simple poetry to have Gemma standing on the spot at the end of season 5 and by the same man Tara stood by at the end of season 4. It can of showed that the poet in question was following an innate rhyming scheme all this while. So many things happened in between that time but in the end, they still got some poetic symmetry.
As for Jax, he went against everything he seems to stand for in his journals. In the end, he showed that he is really no different from the person he had schemed to replace all this while and this too followed the poetry of the whole show. All his idealism of a new direction for the gang ended up showing themselves to be worthless because in the end, he was just like the person he replaces and there was really no new direction but the old one.
With hindsight, one can now say with a level of ease that his character has been unraveling for some time now. He kept on making decisions that slowly chipped away at his moral rectitude until things seemed to suddenly come to a point of self awareness where he just knew that he was no better than everything he had tried to change and the only thing that really changed was the personnel rather than the leadership.
But with the way things went, many things that were simply beyond his personal control had to take place for them to have worked his way and they did. There could be an argument that the events in this season finale were contrived but real life can actually look more contrived than make believe and this in a way cancels out that argument. Maybe it was just a case of someone wanting something bad enough and taking everything that happened to push forward and use them for their own end.
He set up Clay for murder and he has been arrested. He seems headed for jail and it will be hard to have any form of sympathy for this guy. It is however noteworthy that Clay has some degree of regret about his past transgression which is good thing for his personal development.
While Tara is now heading for jail as well and Gemma seems to have taken the reins once more, Juice is now officially off the hook as far as Jax is concerned. The person who seemed to have the greatest turnaround was Tig but things have been nicely set of for the coming season.
